Geocache Description:

Hämeenlinnan rautatieaseman kätkön toukkakätkö. A larva cache of Railway Station of Hämeenlinna.

Turusta Toijalaan vievän rautatien rakentamisen myötä Liedon Tammentakaan saatiin asema vuonna 1876. Asemarakennus tehtiin tyyppipiirustuksia noudattaen. Suunnittelijana toimi mahdollisesti Knut Nylander. Asemarakennusta uusittiin 1960- ja -80-luvuilla. Rakennuksessa on ollut odotushuoneen lisäksi konttoritiloja ja asemapäällikön asunto. Asema on nykyisin suljettu. Tiedot ovat Liedon kulttuuriympäristöohjelman sivuilta.

Lieto got its own railway station in the year 1876 along the newly built railway from Turku to Toijala. The station building was built in a typical design, the designer was probably Knut Nylander. The building was renewed during the 1960's and 1980's. There was a waiting room, some office rooms and an apartment for the station master in the building. The station is nowadays closed.
