Geocache Description:

This is one of my favorite trails to run on because of the decent. This trail is well used by hikers and some bikers.

If you want a good hard but quick hill workout try running up the Columbine trail to this cache and back. You could also continue up this path to Gold Camp Road and hit several other trails. If you are looking for a nice loop to run start from the Stratton open space parking lot, run up the service road to the trailhead. Continue up the Chutes trail to where it meets up with Gold Camp road continue up Gold camp road to one of the 3 entrances to the Columbine trail that I know of (one just after the first tunnel, a second about a quarter mile past the second tunnel, and the third just above the Helen Hunt falls parking lot). Head down Columbine trail to the Starsmore center and back on the roads to the Stratton open space parking lot. The latter is one of my favorite loops to run at lunch.
