One small hill to climb up so some would rate this a 1.5 or 2.0 in terrain. Follow trail near reservoir for easiest path.
McDermott Reservoir is located at the top of Christian Hill which rises to about 300 feet above msl (highest point in Lowell). Hence to find this cache your vehicle will have to go up hill then you will have to walk up a hill.
This is a moderate traffic area and contains some nice views. There is on street parking all around the cache and trek to cache should not take long if you are looking for a quick find. Some things you may see or hear: There are several Northern Mockingbirds in the area. They are always fun to listen to since they sing so many different tunes of other birds. Look for the grey birds with the white strip on their wings when they fly. Also if you look in the water you may see some nice size fish although fishing is not allowed.
There are signs posted for fines if dogs are not leashed. Keep that in mind when you visit. Although I see near by residents walk dogs without leases occationally.
When you get close to the cache, please keep in mind that very little bushwhacking is needed. Please take care to not damage the vegetation. The grass can grow tall in this area but it is mowed regularly. Also, keep in mind you do not have to go on the outside of the wall to find the cache.
GPS Reception is amazing all the way to the cache. When I was at the cache my Garmin was getting 15 feet accuracy.
This is now a micro since someone took the ammo canister. It lasted for three years though. The new continer is a film canister. One more note, the terrain level could dramatically increase in the winter.
