OK - this one was H's first Munro (was also a first Munro for the rest of us!!)
Driesh, at a height of 947m is one of only a handful of Angus Munros. It can be reached either from Glen Doll or Glen Prosen via the Kilbo Path. The name Driesh means "Hill of Thorns" or "Hill of Brambles". Dont know where it got that name from though - we didnt see either!!
Cache is just slightly below the summit. Make sure you bag the trig point when you are up there though.
When we placed the cache we travelled most of the way wearing T-shirts. However, when we reached the exposed area at the top of the Shank of Drumfollow we experienced what could be best described as gale force winds. We were fully equipped and had to rapidly put on fleeces/hats/gloves etc.
Make sure you are fully aware of precautions you must take for all weather conditions. The weather can change quickly.
Do not attempt this cache unless you are properly equipped for walking in the Scottish mountains.
Parking is by a £2.00 donation to the Angus Ranger service, who also provide a route card service for walkers in the area. Leave a note of your details and route in the box at the ranger station.
