This cache was placed by Cub Scout Pack 27 at Camp Reynolds on Angel Island. Terrain difficulty is based upon the hilly hike to the cache. Elevation was 173 ft. Position was determined using 3 satellites.
Cub Scout Pack 27 took a geocaching trip out to Angel Island and hid this cache at old Camp Reynolds. This camp had a large hospital that supported the troops who were garrisoned at the Camp. Camp Reynolds was established on Angel Island during the Civil War to protect San Francisco Bay.
If you time it right you can also visit some old Victorian homes nearby, witness the firing of an old civil war cannon, or see a civil war re-enactment.
The Point Stewart Angel Island and Melting Glaciers geocaches are nearby.
