A Multi-cache in Historic Old Town, San Diego
This is one of the finest Old Town areas in the country. There are many great shops and restaurants in and around Old Town State Historic Park. This tour will take you to the new Plaza del Pasado (Plaza of the Past) which is being renovated and some day soon will be fabulous. The shopkeepers are all dressed in period clothing. The Bazaar del Mundo has moved to a new location where their collection of unique shops has relocated. There’s a nearby trail that leads you up the hill, if you choose to follow it, to the site of California’s first mission. You will pass by the Mormon Battalion Museum where you can learn about the longest infantry march in American history. If you have time, stop in. The people there are very pleasant and ready to share their story with you. Nearby Heritage Park is dedicated to the preservation of San Diego’s Victorian architecture. At the above coordinates you will find a cluster of palm trees. The number of palm trees will be A. Use this to get to the second waypoint. A= N 32° 45.A3(A-3) W 117° 11.8(A+2)9 At the second waypoint there will be an ornate brick walkway with a circular design. The number of bricks in the circle around the center is a two digit number. The first digit will be B and the second will be C. Use these to get to the third waypoint. B= C= N 32° 45.(B+C)C0 W 117° 11.(A+B+C)60 At this waypoint you are at a corner with two street signs. Add the four digits from the sign on the main street and that total will be D. These calculations will take you to the final destination.
