Since Sept 23, 2007, cache is a small plastic bottle painted camo green at the top of Whistler Mountain, hidden in the rocks at the base of the inukshuk (see photos.)
PLS REPLACE THE BOTTLE LID UP TO PREVENT WATER SEEPAGE.
Hard to rate this one for difficulty. If you're really hardy, you can hike up the 1500 m. from Whistler village (670 m elev) to the Peak (2160 m)(for that, I would rate the terrain as a 5). Most normal people will pay the $30 for the Gondola from the village to the Roundhouse Lodge (@1850 m), and then take the Peak Chair (via trail # 13 on the map) the last 310 m. to the summit (@2160 m)
The cache is now (since Sept 23, 2007) a small plastic bottle painted camo green. Only one small rock to move and there it is. Content is a small log book, so bring a pen. Pls replace the bottle lid UP to avoid water seepage.
Lots of muggles, but they're so oblivious to others, more concerned with getting photographed on the inukshuk that you can probably grab the cache, sign it, and replace it without being noticed. BUT.... there could be somebody watching you, so pls beware of the muggles.
Only available from July to October, due to the snow in the winter and spring.
If you're properly prepared, you can then head northeast on the Musical Bumps trail, and catch the Singing Pass trail back down to the village (total 21 kms). The really hardy can also detout to Russet Lake (extra 5 km return). See Whistler Blackcomb map attached.
