Esta fue la casa del Ratón Pérez.
Aquí vivió el Ratoncito Pérez dentro de una caja de galletas en la entonces famosa confitería Prats situada en la calle del Arenal, en el corazón de Madrid, y muy cerca del Palacio Real.
Como bien sabéis desde que sois niños, el Ratoncito Pérez era un trabajador incansable. Dejaba un pequeño obsequio a cambio de los dientes de leche de aquellos niños que con ilusión lo ponían debajo de su almohada antes de irse a la cama. Lo que más le gustaba al Ratón Pérez era dejar una moneda de regalo. El pequeño ratoncito salia de su casa y viajaba a través de las viejas tuberías de Madrid hasta las camas de aquellos niños que acababan de perder un diente de leche, escapando de multiples peligros, asi como de los hambrientos gatos que estaban acechando
Este cuento “Real” fue escrito por el Padre Luis Coloma para el niño rey Alfonso XIII (el rey Buby del cuento), y se desarrolla en este lugar. El cuento es muy popular, y de hecho El Ratoncito Pérez tiene ya muchas franquicias y empresas colaboradoras por todo el mundo. Así por ejemplo en Francia se le llama "Ratoncito" (la petite souris), en Italia se le conoce como "Topolino" y en los países anglosajones este papel lo encarna el "Hada de los dientes" (Tooth Fairy).
El 5 de enero de 2003 el Ayuntamiento de Madrid rindió un homenaje a este personaje de leyenda instalando una placa conmemorativa en el mismo lugar donde el padre Coloma situó la vivienda del roedor con el siguiente texto: Aquí vivía, en una caja de galletas, Ratón Pérez”, según el cuento que el padre Coloma escribió para el niño Rey Alfonso XIII. Curiosamente el cuento es prácticamente desconocido en España donde no se publica desde 1947, aunque se reedita cada año en países tan lejanos como Japón.
La historia de este roedor ha sido traducida al francés y al inglés, idioma en el que se han hecho varias adaptaciones.

Esta es la casa del Ratón Pérez. Está situada en la c/Arenal (metro Sol), en un edificio con la planta baja de color verde, la cual tiene insertada en su fachada grandes MONEDAS DORADAS (ver foto).
Si miras arriba, en la primera planta de este edificio puedes encontrar la placa del Ratón Pérez (ver foto)
Para ir al siguiente punto, cuenta el número de monedas que hay en la fachada PRINCIPAL (cuenta sólo en ésta. No incluyas las que hay en el lateral). Este número sería A.

El cache se encuentra a unos 500m de la Casa del Ratón Pérez, dando un agradable paseo en dirección al Palacio Real, el cual tantas veces hizo el Raton Pérez para visitar al Rey Buby.
El tamaño del cache es pequeño. Aunque hay espacio para el logbook/lápiz y tambien si queréis, podéis intercambiar alguna moneda, afición muy del gusto del Ratón Pérez como sabéis.

(La petite souris/Topolino/Tooth Fairy Company)
This was Ratón Pérez’s house (Pérez Mouse is a colleague of “Topolino” for italians “petite souris” for french or the “Tooth Fairy” for english people).
On this place lived Mr. Ratón Pérez (“Pérez Mouse”),inside a biscuit box. He lived at that time in the famous Prats candy shop, situated in El Arenal Street, on the heart of Madrid city and very close to the Royal Palace.
As you probably know since you were a child, Ratón Pérez was a tireless and hard worker. He always let us a small gift for the dropped milk tooth childrens had put below their pillows just before they were asleep. One of the things Ratón Pérez most liked for a present was a coin. The litlle rodent enjoyed going out his home, traveling along the pipes of Madrid city looking for the bedrooms of those childrens who had lost a milk tooth, sidetraking and escaping from the dangers and the cats who were watching around.
This “Real” (Royal) story took place here and was written by the spanish priest Luis Coloma for the little children king Alfonso XIII (really he was the Buby king on this story). This tale is very popular, and much more, Ratón Pérez has now a lot of franchises and joint companys all over the world. For example, in France it’s known as “la petite souris”, in Italy it's “Topolino”, and for english people it's known as the “Tooth Fairy”.
On January the 5th 2003 , Madrid city council decided to give a tribute to this little Hero by putting a memorial plaque on his honor, in the place where priest Coloma wrote to the child king Alfonso XIII: “On this place lived Ratón Pérez, inside a biscuit box”. (look photo)

These are Ratón Pérez home GPS coords. This place is located in El Arenal street (Sol metro station). It’s a building with a green façade on its ground floor, and it has big GOLDEN COINS inserted in the wall (see photo).
If you look up, on the first floor, you could see Ratón Pérez’s plaque. (see photo)
To reach the next point, you have to count the number of coins inserted in the MAIN façade of this building (only in the main façade, do not include the lateral one). This number would be A .

Cache is located around 500 meters from Step 1. To go there you could take a pleasant walk from Ratón Pérez’s home, going in Royal Palace direction. Notice that this path was made many times by Ratón Pérez to visit Buby king.
Although I've got to place the cache in a small size cache, you could find the logbook/pen , and if you wish to interchange coins with Ratón Pérez, who , as yow know, would be very happy to receive them from you.
