This easy cache shows you where to park for free
So you've come to Santa Teresa Park to go geocaching and you're outraged at paying the parking fee at the Pueblo Area. Well Mr. Trump, there's an answer for you. If you set your GPSr to look for this cache, it will take you to a small free parking lot. If you're lucky, you can get one of the 5 free parking slots (or 6, depending on which lines you believe). This cache is a micro container located a stone's throw from the parking lot and the trail junction. The Mine Trail joins the Pueblo Trail here. Muggles may hang out in the parking lot, so try not to be noticed.

Update 6/7/08
This cache used to be a decon in the bush, but it may have gotten muggled. The thistles made it too painful to look for it. It is now a micro, similar in size to a film can, located in such away that walking through thistles is unnecessary. It won't win any prizes for originality, but at least it will be less painful.
Update 6/30/08
The cache disappeared, possibly into the thistles, where I'm not going to go look for it. It's a now a cache that should stay put better. Still nothing original, but it's the location that counts.
Important security note:
There have been a lot of car break-ins at this lot. Thieves know that people leave their cars here and go off on a hike or bike trip, so they do quick smash-and-grabs. Even though the sheriff station is just on the hill in the distance at the Muriel Wright Center, they can't be here all the time, so you have to protect yourself. Don't leave valuables in plain sight. If you see any suspicious activity, call the ranger's office at 408-225-0225 or 911. It may be faster if you call County Communications at 408-299-2311 and have the the County sheriffs respond to it.
