This cache is a micro but don't let that deter you. It is easy to
find with the only trick being how it can be retrieved. To hide it
from anyone travelling this trail the cache is 3.5m up a tree
inside a broken hollow branch. The cache container is camouflaged
with only the top showing on which a very strong magnet is
attached. You need to attach something metalic (like a tin can lid)
to a stick which you use to reach up and touch the cache container
and lift it out of its hole.
You can bring a broom handle with you or pick up a stick in the
woods on the way, there are lots to choose from but it needs to be
about 2m long. Taping a tin can lid or a putty knife to the stick
works well. Be sure it will not easily come off when lifting out
the cache or you will really be in trouble when trying to put it
back. When returning it, wiggle the container around to make sure
it is fully seated into the hole and the top is flush with the edge
of the branch. In this position there is almost nothing visible.
There is a small parking lot nearby which you can use as a starting
point. A paved path leads from the lot and turns into a well used
gravel trail that will take you past the cache. The small container
can only hold the log and a pencil on a string which you use to
pull out the log book.
