Geocache Description:

This is my first cache I've placed on my own. I was introduced to this area earlier in the summer and thought it would be a nice spot for a cache. Trail is rocky for the most part and a small bushwack is required to the final leg of the cache.

A brief history of the trail system.

A local family has presented a priceless gift to Nova Scotians with the recent donation of an undeveloped parcel of land located near Purcell’s Cove, Halifax. This 30 acre parcel of land encompasses unusually diverse wildlife habitats ranging from rugged granite coastal headlands, undeveloped shorelines contained within undisturbed watersheds, bogs, granite barrens, freshwater lakes and a developing hardwood forests.

“This land donation is a major conservation success story for Nova Scotians, the Halifax Regional Municipality and the Nova Scotia Nature Trust”, said Bonnie Sutherland, Executive Director of the Nature Trust. “By entrusting their valued family land to the Trust, the Field family leaves an ecological legacy that will benefit and be appreciated by many future generations of Nova Scotians, especially as development rates increase around the Halifax area”.

Cache is an ammo can. FTF prize inside.
