Koordinaterne viser hen til en stor runesten på en høj i en
kirkegård.
Du skal her løse tre opgaver for at finde værdien af tre tal, som
skal benyttes ved beregning af
koordinaterne til cachen, som ligger ved en lille uanseelig
gravhøj, Skrukhøj.
Det er en fordel at kunne læse runer – men det er ingen
forudsætning ;-).
Såvel runer som andre markeringer kan være svære at skelne i dårlig
belysning. Kig ikke lige på stenen, betragt den fra siden eller fra
oven. Bring evnt. en lygte. Hvis du planlægger at besøge stedet i
halvmørke og regn er det nok bedst at medbringe de to
spoilerbilleder af stenen.
Opgave 1.
Runerne står i lodrette tekstlinier. A er lig med antallet af
tekstlinier, der starter fra toppen af stenen.
Opgave 2.
Hvad hed den højvelbårne kvinde som stenen er sat til minde om
?
B=1, hvis hun hed ’Asbod’
B=2, hvis hun hed ’Asferg’
B=3, hvis hun hed ’Asgerd’
Opgave 3.
Runestenen er speciel fordi den er ’genbrugt’. I
vikingetiden (ca. år 1000.) har man genbrugt en
sten, der 2000 år før, i bronzealderen, har været brugt til
helleristninger. De ses som skåltegn på
bagsiden.
Hvor mange skåltegn er der på bagsiden af stenen ?
C=1, hvis antallet er mindre end 3
C=2, hvis antallet er mellem 3 og 5 (inklusive)
C=3, hvis antallet er større end 5
Cachens koordinater findes nu som:

Cachen ligger som nævnt i nærheden af en lille næsten overpløjet
gravhøj, som kun få kender
eksistensen af. Den ligger ved et skel mellem to marker ca. 0,5 km
fra asfaltvejen. Der er adgang via dette skel. Godt fodtøj
anbefales. Den bedste adgang fås dog ved at følge en grusvej, som
starter ved asfaltvejen ved en position ca. 900 m SV for cachen.

MARKER. DEN STORE GRAVHØJ DER SES FRA VEJEN ER IKKE RELEVANT. HVIS
KOORDINATERNE PEGER PÅ DEN ER DE FORKERTE! Ifølge overleveringen
stammer navnet Skrukhøj fra at nogle folk, der forsøgte at udgrave
den, blev skræmt derfra af tre gale ’skrukker’. Den er
dog ellers værd at besøge fordi den har en fin helleristning på en
randsten (mod syd). Billedet giver et indtryk. Hvis helleristningen
ikke fremstår så tydeligt bedes du trække den op med det stykke
kridt, der ligger i cachen.

The coordinates will lead you to a large runic stone on a mound in
a churchyard. You have three tasks to carry out in order to find
the value of three numbers to be used for calculating the
coordinates for the cache which is placed by an inconspicuous
burial mound, Skrukhøj. Ability to read runes is an advantage but
not a condition ;-)
The runes and the other marks can be difficult to identify in poor
light. Don't look directly at the surface. Look from the sides or
from above. Bring eventually a torch. If you plan to go there at a
rainy evening bring the two spoiler pictures of the stone!
Task 1. The runes appear in vertical text lines. A equals the
number of text lines starting at the top of the stone.
Task 2. What was the name of the noblewoman in memory of whom the
stone has been erected? B=1, if her name was ’Asbod’
B=2, if her name was ’Asferg’ B=3, if her name was
’Asgerd’
Task 3. This runic stone is special because it is
”recycled”. In the Viking Age (app. 1000 a.C.) a stone
has been reused which was used for rock carvings 2000 years before,
in the Bronze Age. You can see those rock carvings, ”bowl
marks” for yourself on the back side. How many ”bowl
marks” are there on the back side of the stone? C=1, if there
are fewer than 3, C=2, if there are between 3 and 5 (inclusive),
C=3, if there are more than 5
How to find the coordinates for the cache itself:

The cache, as mentioned before, is near a small inconspicuous
burial mound. It is placed by a boundary line between two fields
app. 0.5 km from the tarmac road. It is possible to walk along this
boundary but the best way to get to the cache is to use the gravel
road, which starts at the tarmac at a position app. 900 meter SW
from the cache. IT IS NEITHER NECESSARY NOR PERMIT TO WALK IN THE
FIELDS. THE BIG MOUND SEEN FROM THE TARMAC ROAD IS NOT RELEVANT. IF
THE COORDINATES POINT AT THIS MOUND THEY ARE FALSE!
The right mound is known to very few. According to tradition its
name stems from the people who tried to excavate it but were scared
off by three mad ”skrukker”(ghosts). It is well worth a
visit, for it has a fine rock carving on a border stone (facing
south). The photo gives you an impression. In case the rock carving
is not clear, kindly redraw it with the chalk in the cache.
