Der Cache befindet sich in der Nähe der Stelle wo früher der
Eschenburgsturm stand. Heute erinnert nur noch ein kleines Modell
des Turms an den damaligen Aussichtsturm. Die Bauarbeiten begannen
am 14. November 1935, am 20. Juni 1936 wurde die Einweihung des
Turms gefeiert.
Gewidmet wurde der Turm den Bergleuten die schon früher immer den
Weg über die Eschenburg nahmen um zu den Eisensteingruben des
Scheldetals zu kommen. Er sollte als Aussichtsturm, als
Erholungsstätte und als Bergbaumuseum dienen wo Bodenfunde,
Eisenverhüttung, Schmelzöfen und die Entwicklung der Eisenhütten im
Mittelalter ausgestellt wurden.
Am 23. März 1945 wurde der Turm von einem britischen Jagdflugzeug
in Brand geschossen. Aufgrund von Zuständigkeitsstreitigkeiten der
Gemeinden wurde der Turm nicht wieder erbaut.

Parken kann man am Besten in Nanzenbach und zwar hier:

Von da aus geht es ziemlich steil (festes Schuhwerk ist wärmstens
zu empfehlen) zur Nanzenbacher Höhe:
N 50°46.712; E 008°19.979
Dort angekommen lauft weiter in nordöstlicher Richtung in Richtung
X. Dort angekommen: N 50°46.833; E 008°20.301
zählt alle Buchstaben, die auf dem Wegweiser stehen:
Anzahl Buchstaben = a (Umlaute zählen auch als je ein
Buchstabe)
Die Anzahl der Wörter ergibt die Variable b.
Es gilt:
c = (a^2)-(3*b+a) das Dach soll "hoch" bedeuten.
d = c+58*b
Danach geht zu:
N 50°47.c; E 008°20.d
Dort angekommen zählt alle Fenster oberhalb des Sockels, die Anzahl
sei e. Die Anzahl der Fenster im Sockel sei f. Es gilt:
g = 2*e+1
h = 115*b+e+f+81
Der Cache liegt bei:
N 50°47.g; E 008°.20.h
Die Erstausstattung ist: Logbuch, Bleistift, Spitzer, Kreide,
Fusselsieb, Haahepper Chip, Zeckenzange, Wäscheklammer,
Herzchen-Kerze, Türschlossenteiser, Streichhölzer, 2 Batterien
(AAA), Kompass mit Karabinerhaken

Easy multicache in the nice forest around the Eschenburg. The
cache is located in the area where the tower of Eschenburg was
built. The building work began in14th of November 1935 and the
inauguration was in 20th of June 1936. The tower was dedicated to
the miners who always walked the way over the top of the Eschenburg
to get to the iron ore mines in the Scheldetal. It should function
as a look-out, a place to rest and a miner’s museum. The tower was
also built as a historical site, where archaeological finds,
techniques for smelting, melting furnaces and the development of
steel works should be presented. But in 23rd of March 1945 the
tower was set on fire by a british persuit plane. Because of
disputes of the different municipalities in terms of competence the
tower was not rebuilt again. O.k. that’s all about history – let’s

Once you’re there you have to walk a steep road (would be better
you have appropriate shoes) to get to the “Nanzenbacher
Höhe”:

From this place you have to go north east in the direction X. When
you’re at this place
N 50°46.833; E 008°20.301
Just count all the letters
that are written on the direction sign. The number of letters
equals a. The number of words on the direction sign equals
b. Now you have to calculate:

means: a square)
d = c+58*b
The next stage is at

Now count all the windows upside the base of the tower. The number
of these windows is e, The number of windows inside the base
is f. Now calculate:

The basic equipment of the cachebox is: logbook, pencil, sharpener,
chalk, fuzz sieve, tick pincer, clothespin, heart candle, de-icer,
matches, 2 batteries (AAA)and a compass. O.k., that’s all. Enjoy
