Peppercorn Place Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Romax: It is with regret that we have decided to archive this hide.
Over past months the venue has been subject to increasing levels of vandalism which has been of concern to us.
Now that the niche has been discovered there is no point in persisting with a cache that we believe has provided much satisfaction to both successful searchers and ourselves.

Geocache Description:

The posted co-ordinates will bring you to a significant
heritage area, associated in many ways with the early
Chinese contribution to this cities gold mining history.
From this vantage point, to the north, you will overlook
a nearby cemetery where many of those who sought
their fortune, so far from their homeland, are now buried.
In a westerely direction a new housing development is
taking place, incidentally named after this cache, and
surrounding this construction, a walking path leading to
ornamental bridges could take you on a journey through
the pepper trees and along the meandering length of a
creek bearing this cities name. Further to the west is a
Chinese Josh House and near to this is a recently
unearthed and archaeologically significant Chinese brick
or ceramic kiln which may be the only example known
outside south east Asia. This area was known historically
as the Ironbark Chinese Camp and was occupied by
Chinese people from the 1850’s for at least 100 years.
The object you are seeking contains a log book, pen,
items suitable for swapping, and is situated within
the perimeter.
