Exit 17 off Rte 93 Park and Ride. (Off exit 17 follow signs West on Route 4 ~ the Park and Ride is on the left).
This is Zoom’s revenge because it took me 3 tries to get a zoom in another location and I placed this one to celebrate the finding of something that should have been simple (lol).
I also want to point out that Penacook offers a nice variety of short caches that have their own unique qualities. So, with a little driving and a few short walks, you can gain a little history, walk 2 rivers, a pond and a canal, meet some dedicated SPCA staff and if you are lucky, bump into a cacher or two.
Start your rounds by going towards rte 132 and straight onto Hoit Rd off exit 17. You will find parking on the left about 2.5 miles to collect GCQWYC and GCQWY0 in one short walk.
Back track to the interstate going West on Route 4 stopping at the Hannah Dustin Park and ride to Get Zoom and walk down the hill to GCQBW1 there is also a benchmark and letter box near the Hannah Dustin’s Monument.
From the park and ride, turn left and continue up the hill (West on Route 4). At the light take a left into Penacook.
Stay straight on the road into Penacook to the stop sign. Take a Left on Route 3 South. Take your second Right onto Washington St. Take a right onto Electric Ave and follow to the end (This is about 1.5 miles from the park and ride). Here you can collect GCQ48H and GCNM8B in a short walk that loops around the small island.
Leaving Electric Ave take a right and just up the street collect GCR284.
All these cache’s can be collected between 2-3 hours. This is a lovely tour of Penacook. Please enjoy small town New Hampshire.
