February 23, 2008 by Craig D. (537 found) Found with D J Geodog Rascal, Bushtrakker & Marcus Vitruvius, with Derringer watching on. After climbing the Staircase that morning and finding Devils Delight & Big Fella, we proceeded to Cleve Cole Hut to offload our gear. After a rest it was time to find our final cache of the day, and so we set off down along the snowpole line to see what we could see.Well, I was fortunate enough to find this one first! Another find notched up for Garmin. Old Yella the eTrex was feeling quite humbled amoungst his newer mapping counterparts, so it was good for his self confidence to show that he still has what it takes to find a cache! After we all signed the log and replaced the cache, we continued down to Howman's Falls itself. It was well worth the side trip, and the falls were much bigger than I had imagined. It'd be quite a feat to get the entire cascade in one photo! TNLN. Thanks Derringer for placing the cache in this remote, fascinating location, and to Bushtrakker, D J Geodog Rascal & Marcus Vitruvius (as well as Derringer) for being great company on this journey.

February 23, 2008 by Bushtrakker (315 found) We made it to Cleve Cole's hut, checked it out and made our selves at home. The Team was eager to head down to the falls to find the cache. We let DJ GeoDog Racsal lead the way with the Magellan in hand closely followed by Graig D. The race was on. DJ needed to get some rungs up on the board for Magellan. Craig D with his etrex made a sudden stop behind DJ and looked under a rock and found it. The falls were fantastic we spent an hour or so exploring the area, Derringer said it time to go back for a cupper and we headed back. Craig D felt a bit bad about beating DJ to the cache so he devised his own little caching exercise at the hut. DJ GeoDog Racsal, and Derringer disappeared for an hour, Craig D was getting concerned and went looking for them. Marcus Vitruvius and I thought they must of got lost using the Magellan. DJ came back with a bottle of Port. Not with out their problems finding the bottle of port, an error on both parties but good for a laugh. Great cache location Derringer. TNLN TFTC The best Time I have had for a while Cheers

February 23, 2008 by D J GeoDog Rascal (959 found) After leaving the packs at the hut we set off to find the cache and have a look at the falls. Derringer lead the way down to track junction, were he then stepped aside to let us pass so he could watch us search for his cache. CraigD was right on the money and walked straight up to it to make it the fastest find of the day. We all signed the log ( CraigD, Marcus Vitruvius, Bushtrakker and myself) and headed off to the falls where we all snapped happily away at the views and falls. A great place for a cache. Hopefully it won`t be to long before I come back again :)MAGELLAN ROCKS Thanks Derringer.

February 23, 2008 by Marcus Vitruvius (3058 found) Found at 1600. After arriving at Cleve Cole Hut via the Staircase and summit, DJ GeoDog Rascal, Craig D, Bushtrakker, Derringer and I headed down to the falls in search of the cache and some magnificent views. Suffice to say, we found both. After a quick detour of the trail, it was Craig D who came up with the cache, holding it up quite proudly I must say. After we all signed the cache, we headed down the trail a bit further to the falls for the views and the wonderful sight of natural running water. If it was a little bit warmer we might of jumped in cool off after the walk up the Staircase.Fantastic location for a cache. Thanks Derringer. TNLN. TFTC.
