Geocache Description:

In memory of those caches lost in inaction

The unknown cache represents all caches that have gone missing in the field.

The Crypt of the Unknown Cache, although it has never been officially named, is a monument near the centre of Sydney dedicated to all Australian caches that have been muggled, “disappeared” or simply given such bad coordinates that even their owners could no longer find them! One only has to look at the archived cache listing to understand the significant number of caches that are represented here.

The sarcophagus is made of red granite as it was designed to be a lasting memorial to caches that have either passed, or in the future will pass, into the ether.

When you visit this monument you may wish to leave a flower on the capstone, if for no other reason than to confuse muggles. In your find log feel free to remember a cache that is no longer with us.

This is a log only cache. A pencil has been provided, but best to be prepared and bring a writing implement of your own.

Reception can be tricky here. As this is supposed to be an easy cache to locate, please feel free (ie it is not a requiremnt of the find!) to record the coordinates of your find as part of your log. I will then use this data to further improve the posted cache coordinates.
