Der er offentlig adgang i statsskoven Thorsø Bakker. Parker på
P-pladsen i skoven på nordsiden af Gjessøvejen 1,4 km fra landevej
52 mellem Silkeborg og Salten, N56 06.962, E009 32.952. Følg
skovvejen Øvre Vej ca. 250 m, som det Halve Franskbrød ligger lige
syd for lidt gemt mellem tætte graner.
Det halve Franskbrød er en stor stenblok i Thorsø Bakker mellem
Virklund og Gjessø. Halvdelen af stenen ligger i en dyb
nedgravning, 3,5x3x2,5 m af form som et franskbrød. Mod nord er
fire stykker afsprængt og endnu en skive er søgt kløvet af, men er
blevet på plads. Før sprængningen har stenen nok målt 6x3
meter.
There are public access to the state-forest "Thorsø Bakker".
Park at the coordinates N56 06.962 E009 32.952 in the parking lot
in the forest on the northside of the road "Gjessøvej". Follow the
forest road "Øvre Vej" about 250 meters, of which "The Half
Loaf/White Bread" is located, just south of and a little hidden
between dense spruces.
"The Half Loaf" is a big stoneblock in Thorsø Bakker (Thorsø
hills) between the villages Virklund and Gjessø. Half of the stone
lies in a deep burying, 3,5x3x2,5 meters looking like a loaf.
Towards the north 4 pieces are blown off "the bread" and an effort
has been made to split another slice off, but has stayed in
place.Before the disruption the stone must have measured about 6x3
meters.
