Just off River rd. A few steps to climb down too
Not far from nearby caches Kirikiriroa and Spitfire.
Little known old Pa site just off River Rd.
Parking may be difficult as its a narrow and busy rd.
Follow the GPS-you shouild find some steps that take you down towards the water.GPS readings can be a bit dodgy near GZ. EPE of about 8mtrs.
Cache is a Oranged lidded Jimboz container.
Note the Pa fortifications and the notice board which gives you both the Maori and European history of the area.
The Pa belonged to Ngati Hanui a sub tribe of the Ngati Wairere, and was the last to be occupied untill it was abandoned in 1864.
This location should be safe from the vagaries of the river
