Spænd venligst sikkerhedsselen, for nu går sightseeing-bussen til Egholm, som er Aalborgs meget lille, men naturskønne ø. I løbet af turen vil du, som navnet antyder, blive præsenteret for de vigtigste "turistattraktioner".
PRAKTISK INFO:
Turen afholdes i dagtimerne alle ugens dage. Ny tur startes hver halve time fra færgelejet ved N57 03.520 E9 52.891. Prisen for denne fantastiske sightseeing-tur er kr. 20,- for voksne cyklister/vandrende og kr. 66,- for bilister, som betales til færgemanden (det er en retur-billet og 2014-priser).

Ruten er ca. 8,5 km lang, så medmindre man har bentøjet i orden er det en fordel med en cykel. Alternativt kan det meste af ruten køres i bil, dog er de sidste 500m ud til vestligste udsigtspunkt kun farbare til fods/cykel.
Inden turen begynder er det en stor fordel at være i besiddelse af denne BROCHURE (link helt nederst, "Folder om Egholm"), som også kan hentes på Aalborg Turistkontor. Turen følger den gule rute i brochuren. Der findes også et skilt med kort over Egholm ved N57 03.722 E9 52.479.
TUREN:
Første attraktion er selvfølgelig den gamle færge fra 1972. Notér dig det max. tilladte antal passagerer og kald det A.
Nu følges "kommunevejen" (øens eneste "rigtige" vej) forbi sommerrestauranten Kronborg, som i dag er offentlig ejendom.
Turen går videre til Statsbroen, som er markeret med punkt 6 i brochuren (ca. N57 04.226 E9 51.699). Bussen stopper og du bedes gå et stykke ud på broen, hvorfra du på vejen tilbage vil kunne se et stort skilt på højre hånd. Notér dig tallet på skiltet, og kald dette B.
Langs vejen kommer vi nu til mindestenen for slægstsgårdsejere af Nørkærlund, som er markeret med punkt 8 i brochuren (ca. N57 04.082 E9 51.111). Notér dig det ældste årstal på stenen og kald dette C.
Videre på turen kommer vi til Egholm Gl. Skole, som i dag fungerer som lejrskole og er markeret med punkt 9 i brochuren (ca. N57 04.048 E9 50.667). Stig ud af bussen og lokalisér skulpturen i skolens have. Hvis skulpturen har venstre hånd over højre hånd så er D=04, omvendt hvis skulpturen har højre hånd over venstre hånd så er D=05.
Turen fortsætter lang vejen, og vi kommer nu til Egholm By, hvor øens eneste postkasse findes.
Vi kommer nu til et T-kryds, hvor vi til venstre finder Egholm Vestergård, der i dag fungerer som privat udlejning og anvendes til kurser og fester.
Vi fortsætter til højre i T-krydset og følger vejen lidt, inden vi drejer til venstre ind ad skovvejen. I skoven findes der en tippi med nogle bænke og anretning til grill. Langs skovvejen kommer vi til Stormflodspælen, som er markeret med punkt 12 i brochuren (ca. N57 04.080 E9 49.869). Pælen angiver det punkt, hvortil vandet gik under orkanen i januar 2005. Notér dig datoen på pælen (E/1 2005) og kald denne E.
Herefter følger vi vejen/stien ud til øens vestligste udsigtspunkt, som er markeret med punkt 13 i brochuren. Stig ud af bussen og stil dig på midt diget, der hvor stien stopper. Vha. din GPS, tag nu koordinaterne af din placering og find værdien af F i (N57 03.9?? E09 F.???).
Turens destination er en af øens hemmelige skatte, som du finder vha. følgende udregning:
A = max. tilladte antal passagerer på færgen (se evt. her)
B = tallet på skiltet, som ses fra Statsbroen
C = ældste årstal på mindestenen
D = 04 eller 05, ifølge skulpturen ved skolen
E = dato på stormflodspælen
F = del af østligt koordinat ved vestligste udsigtspunkt
X = A + 20
Y = (2*F) + E + (B/1000) - 20
Z = (C/2) - 77

OBS: Hvis du ikke har gættet det, så går der altså ingen tur-bus på Egholm og der er heller ikke nogen solbrun rejse-guide. Turen er selvstudium!

Welcome aboard!
Please fasten your seat belt, because now the sightseeing tour-bus leaves for Egholm, which is Aalborg's very small, but scenic island. During the trip, as the name implies, you will be presented to the most important "tourist attractions"
PRACTICAL INFO:
The tour is held in daytime all days of the week. A new trip is started every half hour from the ferry landing at N57 03.520 E9 52.891. The price for this fantastic sightseeing tour is DKK. 20,- for adult cyclists/pedestrians and DKK. 66,- for car drivers, which is paid to the ferry driver (it is a return ticket and 2014-prices). The route is approx. 8.5 km long, so unless you have good legs it is an advantage with a bike. Alternatively most of the route is accessible by car, except from the last 500m to the most western view point.
Before the tour begins, it is a large advantage to possess this (Danish) BROCHURE (link all at the bottom, "Folder om Egholm"), which also can be collected at Aalborg Tourist Information. The tour follows the yellow route in the brochure. There is also a sign with a simple map over Egholm at N57 03.722 E9 52.479.
THE TOUR:
The first attraction is naturally the old ferry from 1972. Note yourself the max. number of allowed passengers, and call this number A.
The "muncipality road" (the island's only "real" road) is followed, passing the summer restaurant Kronborg, which is now public property.
The tour continues to the State-bridge, which is marked with number 6 in the brochure (approx. N57 04.226 E9 51.699). The bus stops and you are asked to walk a bit out on the bridge, from which you can see a large sign on your way back. Note yourself the number on the sign and call this number B.
Along the road we now arrive at the memorial stone for owners of the family farm Nørkærlund, which is marked with number 8 in the brochure (approx. N57 04.082 E9 51.111). Note yourself the oldest year on the stone and call this number C.
Further on the tour we get to Egholm Old School, which is now working as a school camp and is marked with number 9 in the brochure (approx. N57 04.048 E9 50.667). Get out of the bus and locate the sculpture in the school's garden. If the sculpture has its left hand on top of the right then D=04, opposite if its right hand is on top of the left D=05.
The tour continues along the road and we arrive a Egholm Town, where the island's only mailbox is placed.
We now arrive at a T-cross, where we on the right find Egholm Vestergård which today worls as private rental and is used for courses and parties.
We continue to the right in the T-cross and follow the road a while, until we turn left down the forrest road. In the forrest there is a tippi with some benches and stuff for barbecue. Along the forrest road we meet the flood pole marked with number 12 in the brochure (approx. N57 04.080 E9 49.869). The pole shows the spot at which the water went to during the hurricane in January in 2005. Note yourself the date on the pole (E/1 2005) and call this E.
Here after we follow the road until the island's most western view point, which is marked with number 13 in the brochure. Get out of the bus and place yourself on the middle of the flood defence where the path ends. Using your GPS, get the coordinates of your position and find the value of F in (N57 03.9?? E09 F.???).
The destination of the tour is one of the island's secret tresures, which you find using the following calculation:
A = max. allowed passengers on the ferry
B = the number on the sign, seen from the State-bridge
C = oldest year on the memorial stone
D = 04 or 05, depending on the sculpture at the school
E = the date on the flood pole
F = part of the the eastern coordinate at the most western view point
X = A + 20
Y = (2*F) + E + (B/1000) - 20
Z = (C/2) - 77
