Geocache Description:


Erb     Marianka (Maria-Thall) je prvym slovenskym putnym miestom, s ktorym su spojene dejiny vlastnej obce. Historicky hodnoverne zaznamy o tomto mieste mozno dolozit od r. 1377 a prve legendy su zname od XVII. storocia. Na zaklade starsich pramenov opisuju prvy zazrak a najdenie sosky.
    Knieza Pavel Eszterhazy vo svojej knihe pise: "...stalo sa roku 1330, ze ked jeden slepy zobrak, ktory sa vrucne modlil v thalskom lese, pocul hlas z neba, ktory mu naznacil, ze tam nedaleko je pramen, kde sa nachadza zazracny obraz. Ak by si vodou z tohto pramena umyl oci, mal by hned vidiet. Len co si zobrak umyl oci touto vodou, otvorili sa mu a zacal vidiet. Z pramena vybral sosku Panny Marie, ktora tam lezala, nechal zhotovit dreveny stlp, postavil k nemu svaty obraz Panny Marie, casto sem chodieval a pred touto sochou sa vrucne modlil ".
    Zvest o zazracnom prameni, soske a mieste sa coskoro rozsirila. Zacali sem putovat ludia, cele skupiny s prosbami o vyslysanie, napit alebo umyt sa vodou z pramena. Bohatu putnicku tradiciu obce dokumentuje mnozstvo historickych pamiatok sakralneho charakteru. Kostol, kastiel a dalsich 26 objektov putnickeho miesta je zapisanych v Ustrednom zozname kulturnych pamiatok Slovenskej republiky ako narodne kulturne pamiatky.

    Aby hladanie nebolo jednoduche, mozno sa budete musiet najprv napit a umyt oci zo zazracneho pramena, kym spravnou kombinaciou tychto dvoch obrazkov uvidite, kde je skrysa ukryta. Pozor! Hore uvedene suradnice oznacuju len miesto na zaparkovanie.

Holy spring chapel


    Marianka (Maria-Thall) belongs to the first place for the Slovak pilgrimage connected with the history of its comunity. Historically serious records are manifested since 1377 and the first legends are known already since XVII century. Based on the older sources the first miracle was described as well as a little statue was found.
    Prince Pavel Eszterhazy writes in his book: ...“ it happened in 1330 when a blind begger prayed dearly in Maria-Thall forest and heard a voice from heaven telling him that there was a nearby wellspring with a miracle picture within. If the eyes were washed with this watter he could start to see instantly. When the begger washed his eyes, they opened and he could see. He took the statue of Virgin Mary out of the water, had the wooden column made with the Virgin Mary Picture on, and he came to pray in front of it very often.
    The Legend about the magic well, statue and the place became very popular and people were going there to be heard, or to drink or wash themselves in that water. This pilgrim tradition is shown also in many sacral monuments. Its church, monastery and other 26 objects are listed as national cultural sights in Central list of national cultural sights of Slovak Republic.

    To make the search more demanding, you may need to drink or wash yourself in the magic well, and by the correct combination of the pictures you could find where the cache is. Notice! Above mentioned coordinates mark the car parking place only.
