This is a multi micro cache near the Pino TH in the Cibola National Forest.
This is a two-part multi-cache just east of the Albert Simms Park and near the Pino Trail. The first part is a 35 mm film canister located at the given coordinates in what I perceive as a “nook”. (Some may consider the hiding place to be a “cranny”.) It gives the bearing and distance to the second part. The canister also contains a log (signing optional).
The second and final part is a container slightly smaller than a film canister (a container for diabetic test strips) and is hidden on a very large mostly flat rock in a “cranny” (although some might perceive it to be a “nook”). This also contains a log book (bring your own writing instrument) that must be signed to receive credit for finding the cache.
There are good views from both cache locations. The first part is at the south end of a low ridge about 100 to 150 ft elevation higher than the Pino TH. Access to the ridge may be via the north end where there is a flat rock that is a favorite of many visitors. However, the way is steep with “rolly” gravel, and is not environmentally benign. Access of the south end directly, while possible, is not recommended except for dedicated bushwhackers. If you are one of the latter, then use the steep arroyo just beyond the south end.
The best, easiest and most environmentally benign is to proceed up the Pino Trail 130 m beyond the TH to N35 9.921 W106 27.329. Then head almost due south up hill for about 150 m before heading to the given coordinates.
After finding the first part you’ll see that the way to the second part is up a fairly open slope to a ridge top, 300 ft elevation above the Pino TH.
I think finding the final cache will be easier than finding the first part. At the location of the first part, there are many possible hiding places, but the cache is within 5 m of the twin rock spires. If you want to limit further the number of hiding places in which to look then use the hint. Also, be aware that the rocks seem to make precise coordinates impossible. I found that a 10 m variation is likely; while at other times the variation may be less.
