LLQ Cars & Truck Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

a200839: Finally got time to check up on this one and the final cache location (old car) has deteriorate, the cache itself has been muggled, and the painted numbers for the multi's have faded too much. So, I decided to archive this one permanently. I may replace it in the near future with a similar cache.

Geocache Description:

Land Locked Quadrant (LLQ) / AKA The Burlington Woods - Cars & Trucks

After geocaching for a while now, I have discovered numerous wooded parks and historical sites in my home area that I never knew existed. However, I was completely surprised to find that no one had placed any geocaches in the Land Locked Quadrant (AKA The Burlington Woods) - basically my backyard.

This area has a long history that dates back to revolutionary times as it supposedly contained "The Bedford-Woburn Minuteman trail" used by the Woburn Minutemen to join in the fight in Lexington and Concord. More recently the area was used as an automobile junk yard with most of the stuff removed in the early 70s. In the mid 70s, the area became a legal battle between a developer and the towns of Burlington, Lexington and Bedford. The case ended in a payment to the developer and the towns of Lexington and Bedford buying up a 10' buffer on the town lines to prevent right-of-way access to the land thereby preventing future development. Since then, the area has become popular with hikers, paint ballers and especially mt. bikers who are responsible for building and maintaining most of the existing trails. This cache makes use of the trails and a few car and truck bodies that remain.

Since the area is not conservation land, or an official park of any type and is simply "Burlington Town Land", there are no restrictions about nighttime or seasonal use. So, attempting this cache after dark is legal, and don't be surprised if you see a few mt. bikers as well.

For the nature lovers, don't be surprised if you happen to run into deer, fisher cats, coyotes, foxes or wild turkeys among other things.

The cache is mostly kid/child friendly with some minor "off trail" travel at some locations.

To start, you should park at the end of Reeves Road in Bedford (N42 29.543, W71 14.449). There is a trail head right at the end of the road that leads to many more well traveled paths. To start, proceed to the beginning cache coordinates (N42 29.336, W71 14.082). At that location you'll find 6 digits that complete the coordinates ( N42 29.---, W71 14.---) for the second car and more digits. Follow to a truck, and then a car, and then the final car (cache location).

The cache is a tupperware container (5" x 8" x 4") and initially contains:

2 pairs of lips
1 costa rica 500 Colonies coin
1 green beaded necklas
1 tic-tac-toe game
1 bicycle patch kit
