Geocache Description:

The vicarage in Rimsø is the oldest vicarage in Denmark still in use. It was built in 1593 but is well kept and beautiful to see next to the old church with a great view over the surrounding landscape. At the churchyard is a big runic stone from the Viking age. The text has not been completely decyphered, but part of it reads: ‘Thore, the brother of Enråde, erected this stone for his mother and …… the worst for the son’. The meaning probably is that Thore placed this stone to commemorate his mother – and that her death was the worst disaster of his life. The mould below the stone has not been excavated and might possibly contain the grave of a woman.
