Die Legende besagt, daß diese Kirche einer norwegischen Stabkirche nachempfunden wurde. Wer aber norwegische Stabkirchen kennt, weiß, daß da was nicht stimmen kann - denn wo sind die Drachen?
Nichtsdestotrotz ist ein romantisches Kirchlein gebaut worden, das sich ideal in die Villengegend einfügt und auch als Hochzeitskirche sehr zu empfehlen ist.
Als die Bevölkerungszahl durch den Sanatoriumsbetrieb immer weiter anstieg, entstand bei den Bürgern das Bedürfnis nach einer eigenen Kirche. Im Jahre 1876 wurde der Bau der Kirche beim Loschwitzer Kirchenvorstand beantragt. Gestiftet von dem Kaiserlich-Russischen Staatsrat Nikolai Stange, begann bald der Bau und 1889 wurde die Kirche geweiht. Bereits 1908 wurde eine Erweiterung der Kirche notwendig. Heutzutage ist die Kirche auch kulturell ein Anziehungspunkt, wozu die zahlreichen Künstler des Viertels beitragen. Wer es ganz genau wissen möchte, kann hier nachschauen.

Nevertheless, this small church is a pretty building that perfectly fits to the surrounding houses, and which is well suited for weddings. With the increase of the number of residents in the 19th century, caused by the popularity of the Lahmann sanatorium, it was requested to build a new church, which was sponsored by Nikolai Stange.
