Turkey Hill is a small conservation area in the northwest corner of Arlington. The cache is most easily accessible from the trail descending from the summit near the benchmark. Recommended parking is the Waypoint #1, on Mohawk Road near Washington Street. There is also an MBTA bus stop nearby on the Turkey Hill #67 route. Click here for map and schedule.
Locate the unmarked trail which begins directly across from 329 Washington Street between the wooden and chain link fence. Follow the trail which ascends to the service road. Continue your ascent to the water tower and then make your descent via the trail near the electric meter station. For a scenic loop, you can take the trail which continues which ends on Gay Street. From the trail end, walk down Gay to Washington, turn left (west) on Washington and back to Mohawk Road.
There are certainly more ways to do this, much more area to explore and a benchmark, Turkey Hill to log. The suggested route offers a nice loop of about .4 miles.
