Geocache Description:

Not another pipeline track, you say... No, it is a convict built road.

Well, it does have a pipeline but thats not what you will be looking for. Park near S42 33.396 E147 52.227. Lock the car and walk the 1.5km to GZ. Marvel at the work done on the river side of the road and enjoy the stroll to the ruins. Once at the ruins, take a wander around and try to work out what the buildings were... There are saggs around, lots of saggs so if you don't like them, try to take the most direct route to GZ. The cache was placed away from the ruins so that they wouldn't be disturbed. See if you can find the path laid by the convicts between two piles of rocks and ending at the gum tree. This cache was originally placed near the dam but after thinking about it for a while, I decided that there was nothing special about this area and it may not have been published... For the adventurous: You can ride a bike to the ruins or alternatively, if you have no time, you can try this but it may not work.... Park opposite Paradise gorge, go to the river, walk upstream to the pipeline, follow the pipeline across and locate the walking track - not the road with trees growing in the middle of it. Follow the walking track along under the power lines to vicinity of GZ. Remember which way you came, because it is a very long walk right around the river....
