The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

dak's Emu Mob: As promised, this cache is now archived. For those interested in knowing how it was solved, here are the details.

At the advertised coordinates, there is a large, green mailbox. There was a film canister hidden in it that held a note that said: This is not a Partic cache. Look harder! This was obviously a decoy. There was a power pole next to the mailbox with a metallic cover over the cables going up it. There was a magnetic key holder on the inside of the metallic cover. There was a key inside, with a tag that said: DAK = 874 and EMU = 366. The key opened a private post box attached to the wall of the pharmacy at the corner of Gardenvale Rd and Nepean Hwy (S 37° 53.874, E 145° 00.366). The number of the post box was 42: the meaning of life, the universe, and everything. [:D]

Interestingly, when I dismantled the cache, the green mailbox had been replaced with a brand new one, and the decoy cache had been removed. In addition, the key holder was still in place, but there was no key in it. [:O] I suspect that someone had slid the lid off accidentally in an attempt to retrieve the key holder, and the key fell into the abyss of the power pole cover. It's disappointing that they didn't contact me about it so I could fix it. Oh well!

Thanks to all the people who visited the cache. I hope you all enjoyed it. And to the person who lost the key, but didn't own up to it: Pppptttt!

Geocache Description:

The Emu Mob's forty-second cache is not as difficult as it first appears.

Note:

The final cache is not at the posted coordinates!
However, it is nearby.

The Challenge:

S 37° 53.DAK, E 145° 00.EMU

The Cache:

The cache container is a zip-lock bag. Please try not to damage it, and re-seal it properly to protect it from the weather.

The initial contents are:

Emu
2 × Mondo figures (France 1800 and Assyria 1500BC)
Puddy cat
Set of 2 dice
Blue highlighter
Green eraser
Bunch of fruit
Log book, stash note, and pen

As always, please replace the cache exactly where you found it to discourage accidental discovery. (Although in this case, I think accidental discovery is highly unlikely.)
