Geocache Description:

(Please tuck it up and out of direct sunlight.) A preform along a very nice hiking / biking trail. This simple 2-stage multi won't take long. No bushwhacking required.

Santa Clara County, California is a very urban place. Well over a million people live here. Dozens of cities are jammed up against each other in one large urban mass, from Palo Alto at one end to San Jose at the other. But Santa Clara County is a place of contrasts. One of the most urban counties, it's also one of the most rural. Easily accessible, it's also incredibly remote. Here's a question that may make you think: Where is the center of Santa Clara County? Santa Clara? Campbell? No, you're way off. It's here. This simple multicache celebrates Santa Clara County - a place with huge cities crammed together in one corner and huge tracts of open land elsewhere. At the posted coords is a small engraved marker. This marker is located at the geographic center of Santa Clara County. It was placed by a bunch of computer experts from IBM in the late 80s, I believe. The marker is engraved with the same text in two different languages. Count the number of letters (not numbers!) on the plaque, and multiply by 2. Go that many feet north along the trail (don't worry with a compass, stay on the trail). There you'll find a camoed container which is unfortunately not large enough for trade items. You don't need to go more than a few feet off the paved trail to get either stage of this cache.
