The Kieneck is 1107 m high. On the summit there is a mountain
hut (Enzianhütte) which is open on weekends from April to October.
From the summit you have a good view towards Ötscher, Schneeberg,
Rax and Schneealm.
There are various approaches possible, I took the Enziansteig
upwards and the way through the Viehgraben downwards. Parking for
this variant is available at N 47° 55.646', E 015 ° 54.036' (about
200m AFTER the parking lot of the restaurant).
The cache is hidden somewhat below the summit because I couldn't
find a decent hiding place on the top.
GPS-Reception was somewhat erratic so you may need the
spoiler-picture or the hint. I hope the cache is not out of reach
after snow-melt. It was a meter above ground when I hid it.
The cache is a small plastic-box (may contain small TBs). Please
make sure that the contents is always wrapped in two plastic-bags,
as I am not sure about the dryness of this hidingplace. Original
contents: Logbook, pencil, cachenote. Beaded lion, sea-turtle,
doctor-fish.
