This puzzle concerns five caching teams who were active in the Triad area in 2006 when this cache was placed: NCMountie, the Bosleys, David & Diana, Feathered Friends, and Pirates of the Carolinas.
For this puzzle assume that:
- There are five houses in a row, ordered from left to right.
- Each house has its own unique color.
- Each house belongs to a caching team
- Each team wears different caching shoes (or none at all)
- Each team wears different caching hats
- Each team places different kinds of caches.
The question to answer is:
Who Wears Army Boots?
Now here are some clues to help you:
- Pirates of the Carolinas live in the red house.
- NC Mountie caches barefoot.
- Feathered Friends wear fedoras.
- The green house is on the left side of the white house (this means YOUR left).
- They wear cowboy hats in the green house.
- The people who place event caches wear sandals.
- In the yellow house they place micro-caches.
- In the middle house they wear bandanas.
- David & Diana live in the first house.
- The team who hides multi-caches lives in the house next to the house where they wear trail-grinders.
- In the house next to the house where they wear sneakers, they hide micro-caches.
- The team who places puzzle-caches wears toboggans.
- The Bosleys plan CITO caches.
- David & Diana live next to the blue house.
- They wear bucket hats in the house next to the house where they hide multi-caches.

This is a very easy to find cache, just a few feet from a nice paved walkway. I figure that if I burn your brains up with puzzles, the least I can do is make the hiding spot a no-brainer. The cache is hidden in a metal tube, a "macro micro," approximately 1.5" x 5”. Be sure to be discreet because there are likely to be others around in this busy park.
NOTE AND DISCLAIMER: This cache is hidden in the great outdoors. Welcome to the South! We've got skeeters; we've got chiggers; we've got ticks; we've got ants; we've got snakes and other critters; we've got poison ivy, oak, and sumac; we've got mold and allergens; we've got kudzu and other pesky vines; and boy, have we got briars, brambles, and stickers! Depending on the place you elect to enter the off-trail portion of the hunt, you may very well find these and other denizens of our environment. Please dress accordingly and take adequate precautions whenever you interact with nature. And don't forget to cache in, trash out.
