How to get There:
Park at either at the Shelly Beach carpark S 41 05.645 E 174.51.281 or the carpark at the intersection of Gloaming Hill and Onepoto Road at S 41 06.837 E 174 50.885. The cache is almost midway between these points (a little closer to the Shelly Beach end at 1.2km from there), and the 4km trail is at sea level the whole way. If you have a support crew who is willing to drive to the other end and pick you up, doing the whole walk is well worthwhile. The track is used by joggers and mountain bikers as well as walkers and geocachers.
Cache Theme:
The cache is dedicated to the variety that we can all enjoy in our beach environments. The beach at the cache site might not look special, but if you take some time, there will be things there that are unique to the area. I invite you to bring something of what makes your neighbourhood beach special to you and leave it here to share with others. Leave a sample of rock/sand whatever – along with its GPS co-ordinates and a photo if you wish.
PLEASE DON’T LEAVE ANYTHING THAT WAS ONCE ALIVE IN THE CACHE – IT MIGHT CREATE A STINK!
