Geocache Description:

Another very nice picnic spot in Central Otago.

The choice of name will be obvious to you when you get there.

An invitation to share some bubbles would be nice!(local vintages preferred!)

The map makes it look as though the cache is hidden in the lake. Let me reassure you, however, that it is:

NOT      NOT     NOT !!!!.

Lay the blame on Google mapping.

This is a major hydro lake on the Clutha River. The dam can be seen from the cache site.

The "high" dam at Clyde was one of the "Think Big" projects and was quite a political football prior to construction. It extends from the township of Clyde to Bannockburn on the Kawarau arm and almost as far as Tarras on the Clutha arm.

Construction started in 1977 and was completed in 1989.
