just shy of 1 mile on 2wd dirt road, then about 1/2 mile walk on 4wd road; last few hundred feet is moderate uphill climb (my 5 year old was not challenged).
NV state hwy 140 is one of most deserted highways I have ever driven; coming from Winnemucca side off US95 is a sight to see as one of the straightest roads to the horizon. Kids needed to stretch their legs so we took Nat Forest access road. We wanted to go farther in (to the reservoir) but large puddles and very low clearance car dictated our cache hiding spot. The kids have a bet on how soon another seeker will find it. Container is yellow play-doh with turtle finger puppet and orange plastic ant inside - plus our special trademark: snowflake photos).
