Reading OHMIC's log, I was hoping to find the same trail as him. I did, complete with geotrail on the trail. Incredibly hot day and swampy place made it humid. However, I made it out with feet dry but wet waterproof shoes, it could have been avoided by going slower and choosing my steps more carefully.

I really enjoyed the drive on Spruce Siding road from the highway, lots of old buildings and one spot had wild flowers on both sides. Saw a heron on the road and realised at times there was swamp on both sides.

Found after a geocaching workshop in Hadashville.
I had read the logs and heard stories about this cache and was intimidated.
I drove to the closest parking spot and saw what appeared to be a wide trail straight to the cache... Stange, I thought heavy bushwacking was needed to get to this one...
I ventured on a make-shift bridge across the ditch and found myself in a somewhat dried up creek channel or something to that effect. I proceeded on and once I was past the first 300m or so the path widened and was even drier. I made good headway towards the cache and found a bit of wetness at around 40m from GZ. I found a somewhat dry way to the cache and claimed victory!
The way to the cache was dry for the most part and if you know your wetland plants you'll know which areas to avoid to end up with dry feet!
I got more wet from the spittlebugs, or spit bugs, which produces a cover of frothed-up plant sap resembling spit on many of the plants leading to the cache than with actual water from the wetland.
Be aware also of the fen sedges, or saw grasses, with their long, narrow leaves with serrated edges. After waking to the cache and back in shorts, it looked like I got some serious whipping!
Nice swag in the cache but I TNLN.

Took the afternoon off and went Quad-ing. Went to the Lafarge pits and explored the area. Took the road east of the pits and found myself on the road up to spruce siding. This stirred the imagination as I pondered the Hazel cache that I know lies up there. Some day I'm gonna have to tackle that one. My reluctance comes from tales of booters and bushwhacking. Neither appeal to me.

Loaded the quad on the trailer and was heading home when I thought, I have the gps and co-ords, shucks, lets just go do a drive by and see what the terrain looks like. Drove past and thought it looked pretty darn wet in there. I only have my runners on.... hmm. Drove further till I could find a place to turn around with the trailer then came back and parked. Thought to myself "this is stupid", runners and no flashlight and I have one and a half hours till its dark. Ok, I won't do it, I'll just wander in a bit and get a taste.

Well... 19.5 minutes later I was there, applied a bit more bug spray, 4.5 minutes to find, sign log, and 19.5 minutes to get out. Round trip 43.5 minutes and still had 45 minutes till dark. A most pleasurable hike in. Got out with dry feet and a soaked head, go figure. Not one mosquito bite. Thanks so much for the adventure! Signed: The Big Kid

No bugs, no water, no FTF, well you can't have everything. Teamed up with the Denem group to find this one. Did a little unnecessary hiking, but we found some barrels and tree stands. We didn't see any bears, so maybe the hunters got all of them. Left a City of Winnipeg pin, TN.

We did continue on to the creek near the cache. It looks like the Queen would be able to navigate their dingy to with in a few hundred meters of the cache without getting out and towing the thing.

It was a great day to hike to this cache, thanks for placing it here.
