Geocache Description:

Receiving gifts and keepsakes is one of the more pleasant aspects of a prime minister's job. These items often commemorate occasions at which a leader participated or important national events. Some early prime ministers treasured elaborate pieces of presentation silver, while today their most prized gifts include exotic mementoes from international visits.

Silver trowel presented to Prime Minister John A. Macdonald on the occasion of the laying the foundation stone of the Methodist Church at Fallowfield, June 24, 1886. Find the church, and you will find the cache!

Small cache, contents as follows:

  • collection of small bears (x5)
  • mini toy simba flashlight

Plus a Geocache logbook, manifesto, pencil and pencil sharpener.

In the winter, a snowmobile trail runs within 2m of the cache, so I'm finally able to use the 'skidoo' attribute for a cache! I'll be really impressed if someone can post a photo of this cache being retrieved via snowmobile!

While placing the cache, I was reflecting on the fact that John A. MacDonald was in this very spot 120+ years ago. Enjoy
