Geocache Description:

This cache is in honor of Tom Stone, who was raised in Pomfret. In 1992 he sold his home and set out on an incredible journey, a walk around the entire planet. He began the trip from the Pomfret Elementary School, and kept in contact with the students as he travelled. He wore out 24 pairs of hiking boots, and had visited 24 coutries along the way. He completed his circumnavigation of the globe in 2000, returning to the school in Pomfret from where he started, where a new batch of students was there to meet him. He returned to his military career in 2003, and was on his third tour of duty in Afghanistan when his journey came to an end.

Be prepared for two hours of hiking with some steep climbs. Parking is at N-43-40-809, W-072-31-634
