Skatten er gemt i det smukke område omkring Køge Å. Den skulle være ret let at finde ud fra de angivne koordinater.

The cache has been hidden in the beautiful area around Køge Å (stream). It should be easily found from the coordinates given.

Køge Å Stien
Langs Køge Å er der et stisystem, som går igennem naturskønne områder. Min skat er placeret i det smukke område ved et stisystem nord for landsbyen Vemmedrup. Her er der mulighed for en rigtig dejlig gåtur i forbindelse med jagten på skatten. I nærheden af skatten er der en bænk, hvor man evt. kan nyde sin medbragte mad og drikke.

Tag herfra en gåtur på godt en kilometer på stien frem til skatten. Benyt også lejligheden til at finde nogle af de andre skatte i området.
En hyldest til Blå Kors
Jeg startede min karriere som geocacher i forbindelse med et otte ugers ophold på Blå Kors behandlingshjem i Bjæverskov, hvor man hjælper folk med alkoholproblemer. Kort forinden havde min nære ven IvarT overbevist mig om geocachingens fantastiske muligheder. Og han havde fået mig til at anskaffe en GPS. Et væsentligt element i behandlingen hos Blå Kors er motion i forskellige former herunder lange trave-/løbeture. Jeg fandt hurtigt ud af, at man udmærket kunne sætte mere kolorit på turene ved at kombinere dem med geocaching. Så geocaching kom dermed til at fungere som et supplement til den terapi, det handler om hos Blå Kors. Jeg fik således lokket flere af de andre beboere med på skattejagter i omegnen af Bjæverskov. En af de ofte benyttede ture går lige forbi dette smukke sted, hvor jeg valgte at gemme min første geocache. Den fik selvfølgelig navnet ”BK-Åstien”, hvor ”BK” står for Blå Kors og den uvurderlige indsats, som organisationen har gjort for mig og mange andre, der er blevet fanget af alkoholafhængighed.

The path at Køge Å
Several paths are going through the beautiful landscape along Køge Å. I have chosen to hide the cache at a nice spot near the paths north of the village Vemmedrup. Here you can enjoy a really nice walk and hunt for the treasure at the same time! Near the cache you will find a bench where you can have your lunch and something to drink.
Start at the parking place with the coordinates N55´28.387 E012 04.257.
There is about one kilometer’s walk to the cache from the parking place. Take the opportunity also to find some of the other caches in the area.
A tribute to Blue Cross
I started my career as a geocacher when I was on an 8-weeks treatment at the Blue Cross in Bjæverskov, which is an institution helping people out of alcoholic misuse problems. Before then my close friend IvarT had introduced me to geocaching, which I found very challenging. An important element of the treatment at the Blue Cross institution is physical exercise such as running and walking, and very soon I realised that geocaching could add some excitement to the physical training in the surroundings of Bjæverskov. I demonstrated cache hunting to the other inhabitants of the institution, and soon we were a small group looking for and finding the nearby caches. One of the commonly used walks passes the beautiful place where I hid my first geocache. I named it “BK-Åstien”, BK being an abbreviation of “Blå Kors”, the Danish Name of the Blue Cross. The name of my cache should be seen as a tribute to the work which is done by the Blue Cross to help me and many others who have been caught in misuse of alcohol.
