Geocache Description:

This was the original beach line of Alameda, Enjoy the architecture.

This is the location of an 1890 seawall on the Alameda shoreline.
There were stairs where the bathers went down to the beach.
The wall was built by architect Joseph A. Leonard, who constructed many homes in this area during the 1890s (it became know as Leonardville).
The ironwork fence was erected in 1998 by the Alameda Architectural Preservation Society.
Enjoy the houses and read the plaque but the goods are further back. If you fall in the water you have gone to far.
