Geocache Description:

Medfield Rhododendrons is the site of an important and rare stand of Rhododendron maximum, the great laurel or rosebay rhododendron, one of only three species of evergreen rhododendrons native to eastern North America. In Massachusetts, these plants primarily thrive in swamps, although they can also grow in moist woods.

The cache container is a quart water bottle wrapped in black tape with a 2" mouth. Be sure it is covered when you leave.

Please use the posted parking coords. Do not go past the white private property sign.

I decided to place the cache at the trailhead as the area near the rhododendron stand is very fragile and quite damp and would not be suitable for geocaching activity. During the summer, if you have the time be sure to take the quarter mile walk on the trail that leads to the stand of Rhody's.
