About 1.5 miles off Hwy 97 on A12, Take Cinder Pit Rd. After .75 mile look for a blue pole and turn left there, follow the contour of the mountain but stay on the road. A high clearance vehicle you may scratch is recommended. A little over a mile in a small clearing on the right is the Yellow Butte LZ. On a 54' heading look for 5 rock outcroppings in a group, the cache is well hidden on one of them.
