Zbytky zdiva hradu, jehož vznik lze klást do druhé poloviny 13. století. Písemné zprávy o nem zcela chybí, není známo ani jeho skutecné jméno; název Kuchlov je totiž odvozen od pojmenování lesní trati, uvádené od 16. století. Hrad mohl náležet k objektum, které zajištovaly kolonizaci území Drahanské vrchoviny pány z Ceblovic. Mohlo se též jednat o centrum menšího panství, ke kterému mohly patrit vsi Hamlíkov, Ruprechtov a Vilémov, které se až pozdeji uvádí jako príslušenství okolních držav. V 2. polovine 14. století hrad patrne ztratil na významu a zpustl, i když jeho zánik pri nejakém vojenském tažení nelze vyloucit.
Hrad se skládal z petibokého predhradí, kde se patrne nacházela drevená stavení, a vlastního hradu, kde se zachovaly zretelné stopy paláce na severní strane.
Prístup k hradu po modré stezce z Ruprechtova nebo po cervené z Rychtárova, je v podstate totožný, jako v prípade Hrádku (Stagnova).

Fragments of the castle which was probably built in the late 13th century. We have no written comments as to what this object used to be used for or who its proprietor was. Even its real name is not known and is derived from later name of a nearby forest track. The castle could belong to the system of objects that took part in the colonisation of Drahanská vrchovina highlands. It could also be a centre of a smaller area of land that ruled nearby villages of Hamlíkov, Ruprechtov and Vilémov. In the latter half of the 14th century the castle probably lost its importance and perished. Likewise the decline of the castle could have been caused by a military expedition.
The castle consisted of a pentagonal forecastle - where there were several wooden houses - and the main castle where obvious trace was found of a former palace in the northern part.
To reach the destination take a Blue footpath from Ruprechtov in direction to Rychtárov. If it is your aim to proceed to the Stagnov cache continue to follow the Blue in direction to Rychtárov and than turn right to the Red footpath (which leads to Rychtárov). It might also be vice versa when visiting both caches – starting from Rychtárov visiting Stagnov cache first and than Kuchlov cache.
