This cache is located in Diablo Foothills Regional Park at an elevation of 788' and many other caches are within easy walking distance, so do your prep work and tread as lightly as possible.
Alas, a cache by the name of "In the Hollow" was once located about 500' from this placement and is now archived. This area has been screaming out for a new cache ever since. Spend some time after logging this easy find to take in the views across the valley toward toward the east and the interesting Eocene period formations of vertically tilted beds of sandstone.
The nearest parking areas are Borges Ranch and Castle Rock Park. The hike in from Borges Ranch requires less elevation gain than from Castle Rock Park. If you do approach from Castle Rock, please don't be tempted to take the shortest off-trail approach - it's not recommended. Instead, a convenient cow track leads directly to the cache from the grasslands to the west near the junction of Briones to Mt. Diablo Regional Trail and the southern leg of Buckeye Ravine Trail. I've posted a waypoint for this trackhead.
You should have no problem finding this cache once in the general area.
