Geocache Description:

The cache is off one of the paths that skirts Hogback Pond in Greenfield, NH.

On the day we placed this cache, we saw a Great Blue Heron fishing on the shores of the pond. Although we didn't see any deer, we saw numerous tracks. I've also never seen a pond with so many frogs. This was a great walk, and we had a lot of fun exploring here. The trails are relatively flat, so suitable for younger children.

You can park at N42 57.633, W071 52.863, at the sign for Crotched Mt. Rehabilitation Ctr. on Rt. 31 and cross the road to the trailhead. After about 250 feet, watch for a left turn at a 'no-snowmobile' sign placed ten feet into the woods. If you get to the sand pit, you've gone too far. I have read that you can follow the trail from inside Greenfield State Park, but I've never entered that way.

The cache contains a log book and a variety of trade items. Hope you enjoy the area.
