Only by boat
Borgø ligger midt i Søndersø i Maribo. Det er ikke muligt at gå eller køre til øen. Eneste mulighed er at sejle f.eks. med turbåden der udgår fra Domkirken.
Borgø har sit navn fordi der har været en borg her, og det er stadig muligt at finde murrester.
Borgbankerne har, i middelalderen, været tilflugtssted når Venderne plyndrede.
I 40’erne og 50’erne var der et traktørsted med musik og dans. Restaurationen ligger nu i ruiner og det er forbudt at gå ind på området.
Til gengæld er de store borgbanker et besøg værd.

Borgo is an island in the middle of Lake Sonderso in Maribo. It is impossible to walk or drive to the island. The only possible way is by boat f.inst. the touristboat from the cathedral.
The castle was, during the middle age, a stronghold when the Vender plundered the island.
During the 40th. and 50th. there was a restaurant here too, with music and dance. The restaurant now is a ruin and it is forbidden to walk into the area.
But the big hills for the castle is worth a visit.
