Geocache Description:

Four-part multi-cache near Kavicsos Lake.

NOTE: The last part is in an area of dense vegetation. It may be very hard to access it during the summer months.

Four-part multi-cache for people who like challenges. Only the coordinates of the first part are provided. At each location, the coordinates of the next part are hidden, except for the last part which is a box with the logbook. It is a medium-size box, filled with some nice stuff, so it is not the usual junk. There is a valuable prize for the first finder!

Some of the difficulty of this multi arises from the fact that you will have to cover a considerable distance to find all parts. It is about 3.5 kilometers one-way. You could use a car between parts 1 and 3, however, the road is very rough so this is not recommended. You better ride a bike or walk. The terrain is special at some locations.

I do not recommend this cache with kids or at night. Approach to the last part may be problematic in the winter.

At the first part, the coordinates can be found in more than one location. So if one is hard to read, try another.

The hide at the second part is the hardest. It has been reported missing several times when in fact it was there. Look harder!

If you get stuck while trying to approach the fourth part, look at the hint!

About the area: The multi-cache takes you to the nicest places at Kavicsos Lake, a scenic lake of a diameter of almost 2 km, with numerous islands and peninsulas. The lake is at the site of a former gravel pit. Gravel mining was finished here more than 30 years ago. Since then, mostly spontaneous processes have determined the history of the lake. Nature has reclaimed the area and there is a rich wildlife in and around the lake. I saw waterfowl, snakes, frogs and lizards while walking around. The lake being primarily a fishing lake, there is a lot of fish in the water. People also „reclaimed” the area: out of nowhere, hundreds of small lakeside resorts appeared, mostly built without permission. Unfortunately, most of the area is neglected: the infrastructure is poor, roads are rough and there is a lot of trash all around. Thus, nature lovers and people interested in social studies will both enjoy the walk around the lake.

New developments are planned near the lake including residential buildings and recreational facilities.
