My 50th find was at Hampton Gay about a fortnight before the first of the annual Dreaming Spires Event.
This weekend there is a camping event associated with the 3rd Annual Dreaming Spires event and so I had planned to place this as my 50th cache, a simple traditional cache, in the other local Hampton, Hampton Poyle.
Enjoy a quick cache and dash here or link it with a lengthier walk to include the original "Ghosts of Hampton Gay"
Hampton Poyle consists of 53 houses, two farms, a village pub (The Bell) and a 13th Century church containing a brass of Sir John Poyle and his wife Elizabeth dated 1424, after whom the village is named. Cyclists who want to sample this part of Oxfordshire at its best might like to read the leaflet here on a very pleasant route that takes in at least 6 other caches to my knowledge.
