Geocache Description:

No Bushwacking required. Please do not park on Rowen Dr. It is a very short street with two houses, and dead ends at the second house. There is very little space at the end. Park instead at the chained entrance of the trail towards the end of Hillside St. Coordinates 47 01.598 122 53.640.

6-26-07 Ammo Box had been taken..Lots of Ivy Pulling happened recently. Have replaced with a Camo Peanut Butter Jar with new Swag.

My first hide - Actually a birthday present from one of my daughters and her family-and now a Independence Day present to all. No need to disturb nature or conduct a hard search - should be fairly easy to find. Sat's may be a bit shakey under the trees, but you very close. Area possibly has some historical significance, obscure as it may be. Once was an unimproved road connecting to another road which was damaged and never reopened after the BIG BLOW - a very powerful storm that hit on Columbus Day, Oct 12, 1962. Winds in the Olympia area topped 78 MPH, Renton was over 100 MPH, Portland was over 116 MPH, and the Oregon Coast was over 135 MPH. There was significant damage to the Pacific Northwest, including two local deaths. Many of the unimproved back country roads in and around our wooded areas in the Pacific Northwest that hikers, campers, hunters, and Yes - Geocachers enjoy were built during an intense timber salvage effort aimed at recovering billions of board feet of lumber toppled by that gale.
***UPDATE 6-25-12***
Path has been cleared and cache container replaced again. You are now looking for a camo peanut butter jar.
