OK, OK, so the trail is only .4 miles long. That wouldn't have rhymed. :)
Coyote Lake-Harvey Bear Ranch County Park is one of the newest additions to the Santa Clara County Parks system. This 4,595-acre park - featuring a 635-acre lake, provides camping and boat launch facilities, 13 miles of horse, bicycle and hiking trails - is nestled in the Diablo Range east of the City of Gilroy.
The Campground Trail is about a year old, and connects from the Lakeview Campground to the Coyote Ridge Trail. There are some great views down into the valley from the trail junction, and a great bench to enjoy them from. Even on a hot day the breezes are great.
There's ample easy parking at the Campground. (Like many county parks, there's a $5 entrance fee.)
The cache is a small slightly camo-ed Tupperware container, bug enough for most TBs and trade items. You don't need to leave the trail to get this cache.
When originally placed it contained some Coca-Cola collectible items from Japan, some Phillippine coins, and a small LED booklight.
After grabbing this cache be sure to continue on up to the bench and check out the views - it's only about .1 miles.

There is a little poison oak along the trail, but none in the vicinity of the cache. As always, watch out for ticks and snakes. Have fun!
