A small cache, hidden in the Caesarea National Park, Israel.
Caesarea is about 2,000 years old. It was built by King Herod (Hordus) and was named by him in honor of Augustus Caesar.
This is a well-planned city with a variety of public buildings. Its well-known amphitheater (see picture) is still being used for theater and entertainment shows. The city was served by a 5-mile aqueduct that provided water from Shuni springs.
To enjoy the park, the port, the amphi and the aqueduct, plan a 2-3 hour visit (at the minimum). There is an entrance fee to the park, and you can support the national parks by purchasing the yearly pass (Matmon).
The cache is a 35mm container, hidden not too far from the entrance. Look for a couple of stone steps.
Note: Coordinates changed in August 2007, and again in February 2009, and again in June 2010.
